Finland - Tampere to Helsinki

On the outskirts of town on a hill above the Parvoo River were the ruins of a wooden fort from the 1200s - the Linnemarki Hill Fort. The remains of dwellings and artefacts suggest the Vikings passed through this area. We could see what was left of double walls and a dry moat. Next morning we set off on a nearby forest walk still looking for moose! Loved these pine trees but no moose around.
